Town signs Nicholson
Thursday 16th August 2007, 4:15PM BST.
Gary Peters has wasted little time in addressing his striking problems by making Stuart Nicholson a Shrewsbury Town player this afternoon. The 20-year-old forward has joined on a season-long loan from West Brom, who he appeared for as a substitute in Tuesday’s 1-0 Carling Cup victory over Bournemouth.
Nicholson spent much of last season on loan at Bristol Rovers, scoring seven goals in 12 starts for the Gasheads and playing in the goalless draw against Shrewsbury in March.
He has also made six League substitute appearances for the Baggies – including four in the Premiership – and scored two goals in as many League Cup starts.
“Stuart is a player I have been after for a long time,” said Peters.

As I foresee, Onibuje will not be our new striker.
Instead Peters signed Nicholson, lets hope he can fill out the place left by renegade Asamoah.

The Gasheads?
Here’s me thinking they were called the Pirates!
Either way they ruined STFC’s party at Wembley!!!

This is a top signing, possibly Peters best to date.
He has Premier League experience and averaged more than a goal every other game for Bristol Rovers on loan last year, top drawer!

See how he gets on and if his goal a game ratio is as good as it was with the fluky Rovers we have to sign him at any cost! Excellent record for a 20 year old. Best of luck Nicholson.
