If so the boys must work harder. If not perhaps you could employ a more balanced photographer and/or photo editor.

I work in a college in Wellington, a Shropshire Star photographer arrived this morning to take a photo of two students – boys – who achieved 4As and 3As and a B respectively…I wonder what happened to that!

Just a quick note to try to explain how this “imbalance” has come about. Anyone who got later editions of the paper will have seen an inside spread of photos which were more balanced. Some of these picture involved boys only. However, the online picture gallery was drawn exclusively from photos used on P1 of the various editions of the paper. To catch the editions early enough we are limited to those schools willing to put up pupils for photos very early on in the day . . . and in that respect we simply take what we’re given (no disrespect to any of the pupils involved!).
I hope this answers some of the points – and well done to everyone (girls AND boys) who did well yesterday.
