The man, who has not been named but is from the Donnington area of Telford, was taken to the town’s Princess Royal Hospital after he was attacked by two men at 11.20pm yesterday.

He was walking near the entrance to St Matthew’s Church, Donnington, when he was “jumped” by the two men who stabbed him in the stomach with a kitchen knife. The attackers then fled along Church Road as the man lay injured on the pavement.

He was taken to the PRH by ambulance where he was kept in overnight.

Constable Stuart Ind, Telford police spokesman, said: “At 11.20pm yesterday a 33-year-old man went for a walk and was jumped by two men. He received a wound to his abdomen.

“The offenders are described as black, wearing dark clothing and ran off along Church Road.

“The weapon used is believed to be a kitchen knife.”

The man’s condition was today described as “stable”.

Anybody with information about the attack is asked to call Telford police on 08457 444888.

if this was a black man who was jumped on and stabbed by two white men the paper would be screaming about a racial attack but it was only a white man jumped on by two black men in his own country so it dosn`t count.
