Hunt buildings put up for sale
Thursday 26th July 2007, 5:57AM BST.
The buildings that served as the home of the North Shropshire Hunt for more than 100 years have been put up for sale.
Hunt leaders announced they would be leaving The Kennels in Lee Brockhurst in January this year as they were no longer considered to be suitable.
After 115 years as home to the hunt, the property has now been put on the market for sale by informal tender.
Despite starting the search for new headquarters for the huntsmen and 80 hounds earlier this year, hunt leaders have yet to find a new home.
The dogs are currently living in temporary kennels.
Senior hunt master Ann Carding said: “We have gone through the process of getting planing permission for the existing kennels and they have now been put up for sale.
“We are now seriously looking for new premises. We looked at a few, but a lot haven’t been suitable.
“Until we know how much we are going to have to spend it is difficult.”
Among key requirements for a new home are outbuildings providing at least 2,000 sq ft of kennel space and two dwellings for the huntsmen.

Should reopen as a sanctuary for wildlife -foxes, deer etc safe from “human” torture. Thought hunting had been banned anyway.

Hunting with dogs, Pete, is “banned”.
Hunting with guns is still fine and dandy. And if one is Prince Philip, one can do what one pleases anyway.

They put the old premises on the market before they find new ones – who do they think they are kidding – tell us the real reason for disposing of the premises. Anyway, anyone who sells premises to this lot to be used as a hunt kennels should be ashamed of themselves – they would be complicit in every evil thing that the hunt does. The real reason is perhaps support for the hunt is falling off or members are getting a little frightened of continually breaking the law. We will wait and see with interest where and what they buy.

what a load of rubbish. those who critise hunting have not got a qlue. may be the dogs have been all put down as they can not afford to keep them. what do people think that the hounds would make lovley pets. they are hunting dogs they would never make pets. if you saw what a fox did to the little bunnies and other animals not just farm animals.you would soon change your mind.
a dog is a hunter a meat eater. after all a dog is related to wolfs. what next ban wolfs make them eat vegtables save the little bunnies???

yuo lot are townies arnt you. pro hunting has outlived anti hunt, so you insignificant members of the pubplic ought to be ashaimed of YOURselves. shropshire is probably best known for good hunting, so dont you dare come along and insult it. maybe you would prefere to be shot, and limp off and die two weeks later of lead shot poisoning. myself, i would prefere to get away healthily or despached quickly by a pack of hounds. if you idiots are so up yourselves, you come and see the result of a fox getting shot instead of hunted by hounds- you will DEFINATLY leave as pro hunt. yuo dont have to ride to be pro hunt youknow. not alot of us hunting folk ride, i know that there are more car followers than there are that ride out with us hunting. and you dare call us sick. how dare you.
