Drug raid leads to charges

One person has been charged following a series of early morning drugs raid in Oswestry.

More than 30 officers were involved in the raids on properties in and around Oswestry yesterday as part of a bid to disrupt the supply of Class A drugs.

Police raided nine addresses in Oswestry and surrounding villages. Four men and two women were arrested on suspicion of drugs offences, theft and handling stolen goods.

Small quantities of drugs were recovered from three addresses and several thousand pounds in cash was also seized.

Richard Ewels, police spokesman, said: “One man has been cautioned for the possession of class A drugs,” he said. “One woman has been charged with the theft of two mobile phones. One man has been given police bail.

“One man and one woman who were arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of class A drugs have also been bailed.”

Another man has also been bailed.
