Floods continue to cause havoc

Floods continued to wreak havoc in the county today as a community centre was forced to shut, 20 homes were hit by flash floods and a golf course was closed.
A community centre in Telford was forced to close after areas of the building were left flooded by torrential rain.
The building in Brookside will be shut until at least Tuesday.
A Let’s Get Physical Fun Run due to be held in Telford Town Park tomorrow was postponed because heavy rain has left the route waterlogged.
More than 780 people had already registered for the event, which targets families and runners of all abilities and ages.
Twenty homes were affected after flash floods hit a village near Eccleshall.
Firefighters were called to the Norton Bridge area at 6.50pm yesterday after reports that water had flooded into homes.
They spent several hours pumping the water from ground floor areas to a railway track.
Homes in New Street and Prince Albert Terrace were affected.
Two hundred sandbags were used to protect the homes.
Bosses at Bridgnorth Golf Club decided to close the course due to flooding.
A spokesman said: “The continuing appalling wea-ther has meant that the course is now closed. Tournaments today and tomorrow are postponed.”
