Events to raise cash

Here are the latest events in the diary to raise money for the Shropshire Star’s Flying Doctor Appeal.
June 20: Shropshire Classics group of classic car enthusiasts celebrates 14th birthday at Bicton Social Club, 7.30pm. Half raffle proceeds will go to appeal.
June 23: Four-mile sponsored stroll, 12.30pm start at Dawley Baptist Church, with a route taking in the Dawley Bank, Newdale, Lawley, and Horsehay areas. Co-organised by the Bank Community Group and Dawley Baptist Church. Details from Darren on 0781 758 0573 or Phil on 0784 712 2473. Entries on the day should register at the church by noon.
June 30: Fun day at the Manse Field, Dovaston, near Kinnerley, organised by Dovaston (with Wilcot) United Reformed Church. Attractions include a flower, fruit, veg, craft and cookery show, a hot air balloon, classic and vintage cars and farm vehicles, sheep shearing, and fancy dress. 2pm start.
July 1: Open air pet service, Manse Field, Dovaston, 11am, and then at 4.30pm a proms, praise and picnic event with the Wem Silver Jubilee Band.
July 14: Hog roast, belly dancers, disco, tombola, bar and singer at Ashfield House, Leebotwood, 6pm to 1am. Tickets from organiser Tom Peel on (01694) 751261. Family tickets £22, single tickets £10.
July 27: Cabaret charity night incorporating three-course meal at The Pheasant, Admaston, £17.50 per head. Starts 7pm for 7.30pm, with entertainment from 9.30pm.
