Camilla joins Charles on visit

Wednesday 6th June 2007, 11:44AM BST.

Prince Charles was visiting a Powys village to see some of its community projects at first hand today, as part of his four-day annual tour of Wales.

He was being joined by the Duchess of Cornwall for the trip to Ystradgynlais.

There the royal couple were visiting Communities First projects in the village, including Penrhos Youth and Community Centre and adjoining playing fields developed on a former colliery site.

In the evening, Charles and Camilla are due to attend a dinner at Cardiff Castle, hosted by the Prince for new Welsh Assembly Members.

Earlier the Prince of Wales was due to ‘cut the ribbon’ to the Universities Police Science Institute at the University of Glamorgan, in Pontypridd.

The institute is a new collaboration between Glamorgan and Cardiff Universities and South Wales Police.

The Prince of Wales was then moving onto Fedw Hir, in Aberdare, to visit Groundwork Merthyr and Rhondda Cynon Taff’s specialist training centre to mark 21 years of environmental regeneration in the south Wales valleys.

Prince Charles is due to visit Welshpool on Friday.

He will arrive at the town’s railway station at 10.25am before moving onto the 19th century model farm complex Leighton Farm, near Welshpool.

He will tour the buildings including one of the pigsties which has been converted into a workshop for a firm of furniture makers.

Meanwhile, top Welsh chefs, including Nick Davies from Welshpool, had a royal appointment to cook for the Queen at the reopening of the Welsh Assembly in Cardiff yesterday.

why are people against Camilla – yes Queen Camilla and support her. She has been the best supporter of Prince Charles since he was a teenager and she would make a great queen.

I cant see why she cant be Queen Camilla, as the wife of the King. She is doing her job well, and it is about time we stopped being so judgemental about the private lives of the people in public!
