Murder case man arrested
Tuesday 5th June 2007, 2:19PM BST.
Detectives today arrested murder suspect Jim Ingram, who was spotted on CCTV in Shrewsbury.
He was arrested in Derby city centre at 11am. The 62-year-old ex-miner is wanted for questioning over the murder of his estranged wife Diane, pictured.
He is now being held at Derby’s St Mary’s Wharf police station.
Mr Ingram, from Cannock, is suspected of stabbing to death his 61-year-old wife, of more than 40 years, following a bitter row over a £100,000 payout that he had been ordered to pay her by courts.
Yesterday CCTV images of Mr Ingram were released revealing he has been in Shrewsbury and Lichfield a month after the grandmother’s body was found at her home in Avon Road, Cannock. ![]()
The BBC’s Crimewatch programme had been expected to run a short appeal tonight. Sky News was also to show an appeal tomorrow as part of the channel’s Crime Uncovered Week.
