Farmer in store giant deal

Christopher and Jane Williamson with some of their packed beefShropshire farmer Christopher Williamson has been awarded a contract to supply retail giant Asda with two special recipe beefburgers – Beef and Onion and Beef and Cracked Pepper.

It was awarded through the new Green Fields distribution hub which will be supplying Asda with local Shropshire products from next month.

Christopher, who farms at The Woodlands Farm, near Shawbury, and Citadel Farms at Hawkstone, with wife Jane, specialises in rearing high-quality beef cattle including Aberdeen Angus.

He distributes the beef via farm shops across the county and also via his website, www.citadelfarms.co.uk, which was launched at the beginning of this year.

“We are delighted to have this order from Asda,” said Christopher.”
