Miss Wales finalist’s carwash
Friday 1st June 2007, 12:48PM BST.
A Mid Wales beauty will be getting her hands wet to raise money for a children’s charity tomorrow.
Sacha Stacey, from Newtown, will be dressing for summer as she and her friends host a bikini car wash in aid of the Joshua Foundation.
Sacha, 18, is a finalist in this year’s Miss Wales competition and will be appearing at the grand final in Cardiff on July 7.
The Joshua Foundation, which grants wishes to terminally-ill children, is the official charity of this year’s event.
She will be at JT Hughes, in Llanidloes Road, from 1pm and the group is asking for a minimum donation of £3.50 per car.
Mark Godbold, sales manager at JT Hughes, said: “We are providing the premises and have given them a car to drive round Newtown in to promote the event.
“They came in here a few weeks ago and asked us if they could use our forecourt. Obviously, we said it was not a problem,” he added.
“The idea of having some attractive ladies on our forecourt sounded a lot better than what we normally do.”
Sacha is the main carer for her mother, Teresa, who suffers from a degenerative disc problem.
Sacha is also organising a bed push from Newtown to Llanidloes on June 23.
