missing.jpgConcern is growing for the welfare of a Shropshire teenager who disappeared from his home with a sleeping bag.

Police are appealing for the public’s help to find 18-year-old Philip McCormack who left his home near Shawbury at the weekend.

The teenager was last seen by his parents at about 10pm on May 11 when he vanished from their house in Blakeley, Stanton upon Hine Heath.

Officers have said there was a possible sighting of Philip on the side of the A53 north of Shawbury early on Saturday morning.

Constable Dave Carpenter, who is investigating the incident, said the disappearance was completely out of character.

He said: “Philip’s parents are extremely worried about him as they have not seen or heard from him for four days now.

“If anyone has information about his whereabouts or sees anyone matching Philip’s description I would urge them to please contact police as a matter of urgency.

“I would also appeal to Philip to please contact either his parents or the police to let us know that he is safe.

“He is known to spend time in the Darwin Centre, in Shrewsbury, and also at shops selling computer games in the town.”

Philip is described as 6ft tall of slim build and has cropped, mousey brown hair. He was wearing a black T-shirt with a Celtic pattern on it.

Anyone with information should call police on 08457 444888.
