A Shrewsbury man has denied careless driving after a four-year-old boy was injured.

Simon Lewis, 34, of Armdale, Monkmoor, appeared at Shrewsbury Magistrates Court  and denied driving a Land Rover Discovery on Armdale without due care and attention on July 8 last year.

The boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, suffered broken ribs, a dislocated shoulder and severe fractures on the right side of his skull.

The case was adjourned for medical evidence, with a pre-trial review to take place on June 5 at Shrewsbury Magistrates Court.
