Man, 27, mugged on path
Tuesday 3rd April 2007, 5:39AM BST.
Robbers attacked a 27-year-old man and stole hundreds of pounds worth of possessions from him as he lay unconscious on the ground in Telford.
The man was walking along the footpath near to Fitness First, Stafford Park, and towards Telford train station, when he was approached by two men who asked him for change.
When he said he did not have any change, the two men punched him in the face.
He was knocked to the ground and lay unconscious for a few seconds. When he came round, he found the two men searching his pockets and stealing his mobile phone and iPod.
The two robbers fled the scene with the man’s property and his wallet containing cash and cards. Police said the property was worth about £450 in total.
The man was attacked on Friday.
The victim was taken to Telford’s Princess Royal Hospital for a check up and was released.
