Not just for hairdressers

One of the things I love about my Peugeot 206 that the chassis is curvy with no hard defined lines, which makes it a really nice shape, although I’ve been told it’s a bit of a hairdresser’s car, writes Donna from Shrewsbury.
It has a standard interior, in keeping with the curvy design of the exterior, while the amber display lights contrast well for optimal viewing of the control panels.
The steering wheel can also be raised or lowered to fit the driver’s requirements and comfort, and you’ll be surprised how much you can fit in the boot!
It’s a fairly smooth drive – for a little 1.4 it’s very nippy, it holds corners well and performs in all weather conditions, but I think a lot of that is down to having the right tyres.
Gear change is also smooth, but the only downside is that the car has to be stationary before you can change down into first gear, otherwise it tends to grind and this can be costly because the teeth in your gear box will start to wear.
The PUG is affordable, although you would probably pay just a little bit more than average for parts of English cars, but the insurance is reasonable.
The only disadvantage is that they depreciate in value each year due to new models being released.
I’ve had my car for three years now, and although I probably wouldn’t buy a Peugeot again, it’s done me proud – I haven’t had to spend a lot on repairs, apart from the obvious like new tyres, the exhaust and windscreen wipers.
But I do take good care of it and check the tyre pressure, oil and water regularly – if you look after your car, you’ll be looking after your wallet!
