March 15: Sportsman’s charity dinner, hosted by the Rotary Club of Wellington. Guest speaker, Bath and England rugby union star Gareth “Cooch” Chilcott. March 18: Concert by Irish entertainer Brendan Shine at The Place (formerly called Oakengates Theatre), Oakengates, 7.30pm. Tickets cost £11 and are available at the box office on (01952) 382382.
March 24: Annual expo, and primary schools football and netball tournament, Moor Park School, near Ludlow. Cash raised from a food stand at the event will go towards the appeal.
March 30: This is the provisional date for a massive “mufti day” which, it is hoped, will involve all primary and secondary schools in Shropshire. The non-uniform day is being organised by Shropshire Ambulance First Emergency Response.
March 31: Easter Fair, Barclay Gardens residential home, Donnington, 2pm.
April 1: Concert of country and Irish music, with singer Jimmy Buckley, at Whitchurch Civic Centre, 7.30pm. Tickets for the concert cost £12.50. Inquiries to (01948) 664577.
April 9 (Easter Monday): Whist drive at Westhope Village Hall, near Craven Arms. £1.50 admission, 8pm start.
April 21: Coffee morning at Leebotwood Village Hall, 10am to noon.
