Trees help date photo of school

A short while ago we published a photo of Kinlet School which we estimated to date from around 1910, and that prompted a reader to e-mail us this view of the school.
“Mr Thomas Pye was headmaster from 1890 to 1915. Enclosed is a copy of a picture which came from the Jeffs family who lived at 19 Button Bridge for generations. We don’t know the date, but the trees look taller than in your postcard, so it must be later than yours – perhaps around World War One?” says our correspondent, who prefers not to be named.
