£2m holiday parks cash boost

A leading company with sales centres in Shropshire and Mid Wales has unveiled plans to invest £2.25 million in two holiday home parks.

Salop Leisure Group is to spend £1.5 million at Min-y-Don Holiday Home Park in Harlech and £750,000 on the award-winning, five-star Seven Oaks Holiday Home Park at Crew Green, between Shrewsbury and Welshpool.

Work is scheduled for completion on both parks by late summer.

The company is redeveloping Min-y-Don Holiday Home Park to provide 112 holiday homes, 100 touring caravan pitches and state-of-the-art facilities with the aim of creating one of the finest parks in Mid Wales.

At Seven Oaks Holiday Home Park, the company is building a new reception centre, manager’s accommodation and 30 new pitches for holiday homes in prime positions overlooking the River Severn and surrounding countryside. The reception centre will include a laundry room and fitness suite.

The development will increase the number of holiday homes on the park to 100.

Salop Leisure Group chairman Tony Bywater said: “This investment demonstrates the company’s commitment to providing holiday home parks of the highest standard in Mid Wales.”

The group, one of the UK’s leading suppliers of holiday homes and touring caravans, employs more than 100 people at its sales centres in Shrewsbury, Machynlleth and Cosford, and at its holiday home parks across Mid Wales.
