The couple, who live there with their two cocker spaniels, now feel that it has simply become too big for them.

They have decided to downsize from their modern luxury home and move out to a cottage in the country.

Therefore 22 Finsbury Drive, Priorslee is up for sale through Barbers of Telford for around £289,950. (Details correct at time of publication – January 2007)

Their home, which has been recently redecorated, features a contemporary hard landscaped rear garden and a smart conservatory by Cavendish House of Telford.

It also has a reception hall with cloakroom off, study, attractive lounge, smart dining room, a good sized breakfast kitchen with fitted appliances plus a good sized utility, staircase to a galleried landing, master bedroom with dressing area and en suite, three further bedrooms and a family bathroom.

Outside at the front of the house is an attractive landscaped garden, plenty of parking space and a double garage.

Number 22 was built by Fairclough Homes and the Wilkies bought it from the developer 10 years ago.

They believe it is ideal for a family and the new owners will definitely be getting a lot for their money.

Craig, a facilities manager for Thompson Holidays, and Maxine, a financial adviser, have done much to further improve their home. The conservatory was built six years ago and offers lovely views over the garden.

sd1802022sh22finsbury-4.jpgCraig has laid solid oak flooring to the dining room, as well as ceramic flooring to the conservatory and kitchen and laminate flooring to the entrance hall. The living room, hall-stairs and landing have recently been re-carpeted.

There are fitted wardrobes in the master bedroom and bedroom two, which also has a pretty bay window.Craig said: “We were living in Muxton when we saw the house. At the time we wanted a bigger place and we wanted to move to Priorslee because it was an up and coming part of Telford, and they were building a lot of larger houses here at the time.

“When we saw this, the house had been built but the interior hadn’t been started.”

Number 22 Finsbury lies in a good position on the perimeter of Priorslee. It has a shared private drive.

From the central entrance hall, stairs lead immediately up to the galleried landing. To the left of the hall is a front facing study.

To the right of the entrance hall is the lounge with a view to tress at the front.

Behind the living room is the smart dining room, which in turn opens to the attractive conservatory.

A door from the dining room leads to the kitchen, which backs on to the entrance hall and has a further door to the hall. The utility and door to the garden lies to the left of the breakfast kitchen, behind the garages.

sd1802026sh22finsbury-1.jpgUpstairs doors lead off the airy galleried landing to the front facing master bedroom with rear facing en suite. This room is above the lounge.

A dressing area with wardrobes separates the bedroom with the en suite and is above the dining room. The family bathroom is rear facing and bedrooms two; three and four lie across the galleried landing.

The front garden has well stocked borders and a brick wall with wrought iron railings. A side gate leads to the good-sized rear garden.

This has a paved and gravelled patio area, extensive decked area, extensive gravelled area with circular patio area, well stocked borders and established shrubs and specimen trees including a palm tree, apple tree and maple tree.

Number 22 Finsbury Drive, Priorslee is a large and well-designed home, which is attractive and ideal for entertaining.

It is convenient for commuting and would make a lovely home for professionals with a growing family or family with older children.
