Accident verdict on pub fall man

Friday 26th January 2007, 7:39PM GMT.

A verdict of accidental death has been recorded on a Shropshire man who died after falling out of the window of a Shrewsbury pub.

Coroner for mid and north Shropshire Mr John Ellery recorded the verdict into the death of Stuart Kinnish, of Tasley, near Bridgnorth, at an inquest in Shrewsbury today.

Mr Kinnish was on a night out with colleagues from Furrows, Shrewsbury, celebrating a friend’s 21st birthday when the accident happened on July 29.

He arrived at the Vaults pub where he was staying with colleague Carly Reynolds, of Highley, at about 2am.

Miss Reynolds, who gave evidence at the inquest, said she was asleep in a single bed with Mr Kinnish on the third floor when she was disturbed by him moving around.

When she woke up she saw Mr Kinnish’s leg out of the window.

Mr Kinnish, who attended Bridgnorth Endowed School, was pronounced dead at the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital on July 30. His death was caused by multiple injuries which included a fractured skull.

Mr Ellery said there was no evidence to suggest Mr Kinnish’s death was anything other than an accident.

“There are a number of factors which contribute to Mr Kinnish’s death which include the fact that he had been drinking and could have been disorientated,” he said.
