Will princes ride at show?
Saturday 13th January 2007, 7:28PM GMT.
Princes William and Harry could make an appearance at this year’s West Mid show, it was revealed today.
This year’s event will stage pageantry by the Musical Ride of The Household Cavalry.
Show chairman David Tudor said there was a possibility the two princes – both members of the Cavalry – could take part in the performance.
But he added: “Although this might be a possibility, the show organisers would be unlikely to be able to make any comment publicly prior to the show.”
William joined his regiment the Blues and Royals earlier this month after he left Sandhurst in December.
The 24-year-old, now known in the Army as Cornet Wales, will train to be a troop leader with an armoured reconnaissance unit, just like his brother Prince Harry who is also a member of the Blues and Royals.
Mr Tudor said the Household Cavalry would be a premier attraction at the West Mid Show to rival the appearance of the King’s Troop Royal Horse Artillery two years ago.
The two-day event will be held once again at the West Mid Showground, off Berwick Road, on June 23 and 24.
The Musical Ride will be performed twice each day on the main arena and will feature a large contingent of the Household Cavalry on horseback and in full ceremonial regalia.
