Couple victims of attack

Two teenage sweethearts were attacked as they left a Telford supermarket, police said today.

The 16-year-old boy and his girlfriend were assaulted after leaving Asda in Telford town centre. They had just left the store when two young men approached them.

One of them punched the boy in the face, before his girlfriend was punched in the face when she intervened. The attackers then made their escape towards Hollinswood.

The man who punched them was described as white, in his 20s, of heavy build, about 5ft 10ins, and wearing a navy blue Rockport jacket and jeans. The man with him was also described as white, in his 20s, with short dark hair, and wearing a cream jacket. Call police on 08457 444888.
