I do, I do, I do, say sisters

Three brides and a castleIt was a day of triple celebration for one Shropshire family as three sisters tied the knot at one rather large ceremony.

Joanna, Melissa and Jenna Spragg all married their partners at a civil ceremony at Rowton Castle, near Shrewsbury, yesterday in one of the first ceremonies of its type in the county.

The sisters walked down the aisle exactly a minute apart before saying their vows at the 1.30pm service.

Proud parents Don and Pam Spragg, who organised the hat-trick, watched on with the rest of the 110 guests as the rain held off for the big day at the picturesque venue.

Joanna, 28, married her boyfriend of the last 11 years, Shaun Baker, while Melissa, 24, wedded her partner Gavin Williams and Jenna, 21, got hitched to Christopher Melville.

All three sisters live near their parents’ house in Priorslee, Telford. Father Mr Spragg said: “It was fantastic. You couldn’t wish for any more. The weather was very kind to us.

“My wife was the one who organised it all with the girls and pulled it all together.

“When your daughter gets married it’s the best day of your life, so to have three together is extra special. You can’t find the words to describe it. They all looked beautiful.”

The Spragg brides insist they got married for logistical reasons – not financial – after Joanna and Shaun first decided they wanted to tie the knot and Jenna and Melissa quickly followed suit.

They were all fitted with their Mori Lee dresses from the same shop – Shropshire Country Brides in Much Wenlock.

Joanna wore a Millennium Silver dress, Melissa’s design was a traditional white with silver sparkling accessories while Jenna said “I do” in a “Princess style” white dress with feather boa.

Jenna said despite the challenge of organising three weddings in one, the day was perfect for the sisters.

She said: “It was quite stressful but as soon as we got in the room it went perfectly.”

Melissa said: “It was a fantastic day. I haven’t taken it all in really. It was a bit mad and it all went so quickly.”

And Joanna added: “It made the day extra special, getting married alongside my two sisters.”

Joanna and Shaun are honeymooning at a Sandals resort in Jamaica, Melissa and Gavin are going to the Maldives, and Jenna and Christopher are going to Devon.
