Every dog has its day

dog1tm.jpgWe’re suckers for animal stories at the Shropshire Star, writes our News Blogger David Burrows. Most animal tales (tails?) have a certain “aah” factor but today’s was laced with a few extra a’s because of the happy ending.

When we heard that 18-month-old Freddie the border terrier had been rescued by firefighters after being trapped in a shed full of logs it sounded right up our street. When we saw the fire brigade’s photographer had pictures of the crew with the puppy it was even better.

But, never one to settle for second best, our own photographer was dispatched to get a pic of the recovering pooch at its home.

As the pictures arrived, so the story developed. From a straight forward picture story on page one to a larger picture story and inside spread for later editions.

Altogether now . . . aaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhh!
