A choir from the Shropshire border, set for chart success and Hollywood stardom, has recreated the classic Beatles Abbey Road album cover.
The Froncysyllte Male Voice Choir, took a stroll across Abbey Road, following in the footsteps of the Fab Four and the band’s iconic photoshoot.
The choir, which began life in 1947, has been snapped up the former manager of boy band Blue, Daniel Glatman, who saw the men perform at a friend’s wedding.
He offered to manage the choir and get them a recording contract with Universal Music and producer Zygi Kamasa has also snapped up the film rights to their story.
Dave Jones, chairman of the choir, said: “We went down to London yesterday to appear on This Morning in ITV to perform our new CD, Voices of the Valley, which is out on November 20.
“We appeared on that then went down to Abbey Road for some publicity photos. It was wonderful. It was my generation because I grew up in the 60s.
He added: “We never dreamed this would happen to our wonderful choir. It has been a wonderful experience so far. We are very proud of the record with the Prague Symphony Orchestra. Fingers crossed it is going to sell.”
Mr Jones added: “The next step is getting ready for Christmas. We have a heavy schedule and we will also be called on to promote the CD.”
The choir will be performing at Oswestry Church on December 6 and Llangollen’s Royal International Pavilion on December 10.
