I haven’t got any choice but to use the bus service and neither have a lot of other students who go to college, the problem is there’s just not enough buses for the number of passengers trying to use them. The other afternoon, a whole load of us waited at the bus stop trying to get home while three buses went straight by because they were full up. For a bus service that’s meant to be a ten-minute wait, I waited over an hour just to get a few miles home, which you can imagine I wasn’t best pleased about.

It’s not a new problem either from what I’ve been told and seen for myself. I’ve heard other people say it was the same last year and the year before that too. There have also been letters sent to the Shropshire Star, so if Arriva know there’s a problem, why aren’t they doing anything about it?

Telford’s getting bigger and bigger. The government keep on about saving the planet and helping the environment by getting people to use public transport, but if the buses aren’t good enough, it’s not surprising so many people still use cars, is it?

Like I say, I haven’t got a choice, so I found out the website for Arriva (www.arriva.co.uk) and I told them what I thought. I don’t know whether it will do any good, but at least I tried. If you’ve had any problems with the buses why don’t you tell them as well?

Perhaps if enough of us bring such things to their attention they might be more inclined to take notice.

I encountered this same problem 10 years ago when I was studying at New College! I can’t believe the same problem still exists!!
