Police are continuing to investigate the accident and have appealed for witnesses.
In a separate accident, a 20-year-old man was airlifted to hospital following a two-car collision in south Shropshire.
The man was taken by air ambulance to the Selly Oak Hospital, Birmingham, following the collision on the B4635 Ludlow to Culmington road, near Ludlow Golf Course, at about 2.50pm yesterday.
He was later transferred to the neuro-critical unit at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, where his condition today was critical.
The man was driving a white Vauxhall Astra GTE towards Culmington.
The other vehicle, a blue Peugeot 307, was travelling in the opposite direction. The driver, a woman in her sixties, was taken to the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital with spinal injuries.
Spokesman Richard Ewels said: “We are anxious to hear from anyone who saw the collision or who spotted either vehicle beforehand.”
Police have appealed for witnesses to both accidents to call 08457 444888.
