Honor to appear in county

The Hollywood actress, who is ranked among the world’s sexiest women after playing Pussy Galore alongside Sean Connery in Goldfinger, is performing her new show at The Theatre On The Steps next month.

It will be the second time the star has appeared in Bridgnorth.

She brought her one-woman show, Wayward Women, to the Theatre On The Steps three years ago and is set to return with her new offering, aptly-named Word of Honor, next month.

Iain Reddihough, director of productions at the theatre, said: “Honor Blackman entranced the audience when she appeared here in 2003 and ever since then people have been asking me when she was going to make a return appearance.

“I am pleased that we have managed to persuade her to bring her new show, Word of Honor, to the theatre. She is a great actress who has a great love of live theatre and with so many stage, musical, television and film credits to her name it is a rare opportunity for the people of Shropshire to see a performer of such stature live on stage.”

He said the actress had played many different characters in her past one-woman shows, but was now telling her own story, recounting her journey from humble beginnings in the East End of London to becoming one of the most famous stars in the world.

Word of Honor is being performed on October 7. Tickets cost £25, available on (01746) 763257.
