Wedding joy after blaze blow

Monday 25th September 2006, 11:40AM BST.

Disappointed by the Radbrook Hall Hotel, friends and family rallied round to organise a reception at the Boar’s Head, Belle, Vue, Shrewsbury, which is run by the couple.

But the bride had a sleepless night before her wedding on Saturday after the marquee in the pub car park was set alight twice in the early hours of the morning.

Speaking on the day of her wedding, Mrs Game, 41, said that she believed the fires had been started deliberately.

“It has been one thing after another and it is all our friends that have made everything possible for us,” she said.

“Whoever did this has not only tried to hurt me and Andy, but all those other people as well.”

However, the wedding proved unstoppable, with more friends arriving to help sort out the marquee, and Mrs Game said that it showed nothing would prevent the ceremony going ahead.

Mother-of-the-bride Sheila Grainger, said: “It all went wonderfully.

“We had no sleep last night, but they haven’t won. They have wasted their time – we won’t be beaten.”

Mrs Game has four sons: 23-year-old Ben, who gave her away; Toby, 15, who read at the wedding; and Olly, three, and Zach, eight, who were page boys.

Her husband, who is 45, has two children, Jemma, 14, and Ben.
