Big night for Bucks reserves
Thursday 21st September 2006, 11:45AM BST.
The Bucks fielded a strong line-up which included nine players with first-team experience, and they simply steamrollered Nuneaton in the first half to race into a three-goal lead by the 36th minute.
But Borough rallied to pull one back before the interval and got a second with 15 minutes remaining to produce a nervous finish.
Telford had previously failed to record any wins in the Central Conference League Cup in the last two seasons.
And after entering the league proper for the first time this year, they had opened with defeat at Worcester.
But with a side including first team players Steve Palmer, Dave Woodvine, Andy Jones, Ben Twigger, Glenn Tolley and Dean Perrow, they proved too strong for the Conference North club’s second string.
