Peters set for a hectic weekend

Friday 1st September 2006, 11:42AM BST.

But the match has been postponed due to three of Denis Smith’s side having been called up to the Welsh under-21s.

Peters will instead use the weekend to embark on a scouting mission to watch six of his future rivals.

He was due to take in the match between Lincoln City and Accrington Stanley on Friday night  before going on to Rochdale v Hereford on Saturday and Stockport v Bristol Rovers on Sunday.

“We would rather have the Wrexham game on but it’s a cloud with a silver lining for me because I can get to watch six teams over the weekend with games on three consecutive days.

“It’s certainly beneficial to us and I don’t go to a game for the sake of it – there’s always a reason.”

Peters’ hectic weekend will also encompass a training session tomorrow morning, with the whole first team squad expected at their Sundorne Castle base.

“We will be in tomorrow and in again on Monday and then we have a reserve game at West Brom in the evening,” the Town chief added.

“We don’t want to be going two days without a game or training.”
