Whatever the causes of the M5 disaster there is a clear need to reduce the density of traffic on motorways and the tendency of vehicles to follow each other too closely on some occasions.

I note the Countryside Alliance is trying to get the law against fox hunting reversed, reasoning that it is a difficult law to maintain as there have been few prosecutions.
I totally agree with the letter by Bob Jenkins (October 27) ‘Shackled by the EU’.
It is no use Mr Huhne saying it should be easier for people to find different tariffs for energy.
