Telford's Cineworld, at Southwater, will be opening its 4DX screen to the public, with a showing of Aquaman at 11.40am.

The cinema will then be showing Mary Poppins Returns on the screen, on Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday.

The 4DX facilities include high-tech motion seats and special effects such as wind, fog, lightning, bubbles, water, rain and scents, in both 2D and 3D formats.

The effects are synchronised with the action on screen.

Cineworld's website describes 4DX as the 'biggest innovation' in cinema to date.

It states: "4DX's immersive cinematic experience presents the future of the movie industry.

"4DX is widely considered to be the biggest innovation in cinematic technology to date."

A special preview screening for invited guests was taking place this evening to give people an early taste of the new experience.
