Kerry Katona joins spooky fun at Whittington Castle

Spooky going-ons have been filmed at a castle in Shropshire for a television programme presented by reality TV star Kerry Katona.

Whittington Castle, near Oswestry, will feature in the second episode of a Channel Five series called Celebrity Wedding Planner hosted by the former winner of ITV1’s I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here.

The show is about brides-to-be handing over the organising of their wedding to a surprise celebrity.

The first episode was due to be aired last night at 10pm with Jedward, identical twins who appeared on the sixth series of The X Factor.

The twins were asked to help burlesque dancer Beulah and fiance James create their perfect day.

During November a 24-year-old bride from Liverpool and her bridesmaid taking part in the show arrived at the castle for filming.

The castle hosts a number of paranormal vigils with company Haunted Happenings. The TV company brought the bride to the venue to take part in one of the vigils.

Sue Ellis, castle manager, said it was exciting to have a TV company filming there.

She said: “They turned up at the castle and were shown around by Haunted Happenings and there was a little bit of ghostly activity.”

Miss Ellis said the castle was known in the area for its paranormal vigils and also for weddings so it was great that the TV company combined the two.

She said. “Any publicity for the castle is good, especially being on national television.”
