A Grammy-nominated artist will perform at doctor’s dinner and dance fundraiser

Dr Ayman Askari, from Shropshire's Orthopaedic Hospital has roped in international jazz singer of the year, Sacha Boutrous, to star in his evening of ‘Fun, Music, Dinner and Dance’ at the Albright Hussey Manor in Shrewsbury.

The Consultant Rheumatologist at the Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Hospital has organised the dinner dance to raise money for the Orthopaedic Institute Rheumatology Educational Fund. The fund pays for providing training and education for staff.

The evening will take place on May 25 and Grammy –nominated and London International Jazz Singer of the Year, Sacha Boutrous and her band will be performing.

D Askari said the dinner dance promised to be a fantastic night.

He said: “I’m very much looking forward to the event, it’s sure to be a fantastic night of fun, food and top-notch entertainment from the superb Sacha Boutrous and her band.

“Over the past few years, I’ve held a couple of these sort of fundraising events and they’ve always been brilliant so far.”

Debra Alexander, Fundraiser for the Orthopaedic Institute, said: “We’re absolutely thrilled that Dr Askari is once again raising funds for Rheumatology education by hosting this upcoming evening.

“Based on previous events he’s organised, I’m certain it will be a brilliant night. I know Sacha Boutrous and her band will be absolutely wonderful.”

The event starts at 6.30pm.Tickets cost £40 each, which includes a reception drink on the terrace beforehand, followed by a three course dinner and the entertainment.
