A singer-songwriter from Shropshire has released a charity single to raise money for a children's hospice.

Paul Henshaw, from Harmer Hill, is hoping his latest offering 'Sing For You' will boost funds at the Donna Louise Children's Trust in Staffordshire.

The 40-year-old musician started his career in a band called Jonas and once supported the Stereophonics on tour.

He has since become a solo artist and is about to release a new album called 'Winners Never Quit and Quitters Never Win'.

The record, which is out in August and includes the new charity single, is described as having a folk-punk sound. To coincide with its launch Paul is set to play 15 gigs across the UK in just three days.

The gigs will take place mainly on sites owned by utilities firm GE Energy.

Paul said: "GE Energy are supporting the event and I will be performing to approximately 20,000 people over the three days."

Speaking about the charity single, he added: "I wanted to do something for charity and as a father myself I wanted to help other children."

Paul's final gig will see him return to Shropshire to perform at the Bishop's Castle beer festival on July 7.

The singer's previous charity efforts have included playing a week of gigs and busks around the UK.
