Shropshire trainer’s Steven Spielberg War Horse delight
Thursday 12th January 2012, 10:59AM GMT.
The star of new movie War Horse galloped down the red carpet and rubbed hooves with the likes of Prince William this week – alongside his Shrewsbury-born stunt trainer.
Thoroughbred horse Joey, the star member of Steven Spielberg’s new blockbuster, was trained by Daniel Naprous who helps run father Gerard’s horse stunt business The Devils Horsemen in Buckinghamshire.
The family lived in Shropshire for 10 years and Daniel, now 34, was born at the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital in 1977.

No fewer than 30 of the family’s trained horses feature in War Horse, which was released on Friday, and Joey and Dan were the headline makers at Sunday’s London premiere by opening the occasion and being the first to walk down the prestigious red carpet.
Mr Naprous has already appeared in films such as James Bond’s The World Is Not Enough and First Knight but said filming with legendary director Steven Spielberg was a pleasure.
