Marcus Brigstocke at Ludlow Assembly Rooms - Review
TV presenter, author and comedian Marcus Brigstocke went down a storm when he stopped off in Ludlow to delight a sell-out crowd as part of his nationwide tour.
Three hundred people packed into the Ludlow Assembly Rooms last night to hear the acerbic star give his take on life in the 21st century.
Bosses at LAR said they were delighted with the turnout and thrilled to attract such a big name to south Shropshire.
Brigstocke, who is touring with his The Brig Society show, had the audience in fits of laughter from the moment he took to the stage.
Banks, the NHS, education, religion and politics all came under the microscope and his take struck a chord, no matter what the politics of the audience.
Rachel Buchanan, director of the LAR, was out front to hear the big man and loved every minute of it.
“He went down really well which was interesting because Shropshire is a largely Conservative county and yet he raised a lot of laughs with his attacks on the current government.
“He’d obviously researched his audience because he made several cracks about Ludlow and Leominster, making sure he found out who was from where.
“He was brilliant. He’s never been to the Assembly Rooms before but he attracted people from of all ages, from pensioners down to youngsters.
“He was a big hit.”
