The two-day spring-time celebration saw traditional May fair activities take place, such as maypole dancing.

There was also a fancy dress competition, stalls, pony rides, children's crafts and a bouncy castle.

Morville church and gardens were also open on Sunday and yesterday for visitors.

Sarah Jones, one of the Morville Festival committee members, said: "Despite the weather it has been quite a good turn out. The weather brightened up just in time for the maypole and the line dancing. There were a lot of children's activities, it draws in families, it was a good age range from young to old. Instead of tables and chairs we had bales of hay this year to coincide with our farming theme.

"A young boy called Sam was the winner of the fancy dress competition. He is four years old and came dressed as a farmer with a tractor. It was judged by farmer Henry Yates. The event serves the wider community, all of the parishes around Morville come to the event each year.

"On Sunday the grounds of Morville Hall were open and then there was tea in the church and stalls.

"The school has brought two tents along, the craft tent had face painting and glitter tattoos and Punch and Judy.

"This year we've got some bee keepers doing displays, Shropshire Wildlife Trust and pony rides. We also had a vintage tractor and a modern tractor, both with ploughs so people could see how it used to be and how it is now."
