Early bird tickets for the Let's Rock concert in Shrewsbury have been going fast and are expected to sell out this weekend.

A second band of tickets, priced at £45, will then be released for sale. Promoters are expecting up to 10,000 music-lovers on the day.

The retro concert which takes place in the Quarry on May 27 will feature bands popular in the 1980s including T'Pau, Nik Kershaw, Billy Ocean, Heaven 17, Tony Hadley, Nick Heyward, The Real Thing, Altered Images, Brother Beyond and Jaki Graham.

Gates open at 10am with music from midday and ends at 10.30pm.

The staging of the event was met with some criticism from the committee behind the Shropshire County Show which takes place on the same day at the West Mids Showground.
