Dinner date

Ed's Easy Diner is at the Barclaycard Arena so it really is an easy option. With beef, chicken or veggie burger options on offer at reasonable prices it will suit those Who have fussier tastes. If you want to go somewhere more classy why not head to Edmunds Bistro de Luxe in Brindley Place? It serves up classic French country cuisine with a modern twist. Enjoy Prime Welsh fillet of black beef or lemon sole followed by chocolate and griottine cherry eclair or hot toffee soufflé. There's no better Substitute.

Bevvies

Tilt

For a few cheeky beers and a whole lot of fun before the gig you can head to a couple of bars where you can prove that you're a real Pinball Wizard. First up is The Flapper which is a minute from the gig and has two rotating pinball machines. It has beers, cocktails and fizz to get you in the the mood for singing and dancing the night away. Next up is Tilt in City Arcade in the centre which is a 20-minute walk or five-minute taxi ride from the arena. It has loads of craft beers to choose from and plenty of pinball too. You'll be a real Happy Jack.

Rest up

Rest Up

Go more upmarket and kick back and relax at the Hilton Garden Inn at Brindley Place. There are two outdoor terraces so if the weather is nice enough you can enjoy the spring sunshine and some pre-gig drinks. The light and airy four-star stopover is a pleasant place to rest your head after The Song is Over. Simple yet chic, it's only a five-minute stroll after you've had a Pure and Easy night out.

You'll be able to say I Can See For Miles if you bag a room at Hampton by Hilton Birmingham on Broad Street. It's more of a high-rise on the vibrant and busy main drag in to the city. Inside has a bright and contemporary vibe and it's only a 10-minute stroll from the arena. You'll be served up a hearty hot breakfast and a cuppa – like Roger – to set you up after your hard night of music. It has a gym and everything you'll need for the night but it's a slightly cheaper option.

Get around

If you’re driving head to Paradise Circus car park by the library which has reasonable rates after 6.30pm but is a 10-minute walk from the show. Or if you’re pressed for time parking at the arena is quick and easy but you may pay a little bit more.

If you fancy a few drinks or don't want to be stuck in traffic jams before or after the gig, then there's no need to drive. Trains run direct to Birmingham city centre from across the region making it easy peasy to get there on time.
