The farm, at Preston on the Weald Moors, will open for the first time this year on Saturday and several lambs have already been born during its winter closure.

Hoo Farm expects the birth of around 100 lambs over the next three weeks, so visitors will be able to see some of the latest arrivals.

During the winter months, Will Dorrell, Hoo Farm partner and his team have been renovating facilities at the tourist attraction, including a renewal of perimeter fencing, a brand new mini-golf course, and a fully revamped exhibit, called Rivers, Rainforests and Deserts which will have all manner of creepy crawlies, snakes, lizards and crocodiles.

New residents have also made their home at Hoo Farm, such as a pair of reindeer named Blitzen and Dasher, which will be a key feature of the Christmas festivities later this year, and the UK's longest Burmese python, who has been settling in over the winter months, and is ready to greet her visitors.

This year, is extra-special for Will and wife Becky as they are expecting their first baby.

Live from the beginning of April, the zoo will offer the Madagascan Experience which lasts for one hour and includes meeting two species of lemur, tenrecs and reptiles. Normally costing £120 for two people, there is a special introductory offer of only £75 for two people.

There are also a host of events planned throughout the year and there will be a number of promotions and offers with savings to mark special dates.

Will said: "We are really looking forward to reopening for the 2017 season. With some exciting events – Gruffalo Day has already had a lot of interest – and thrilling new animals, it promises to be a great year for all visitors to Hoo Farm."
