Families and revellers are being invited to put on their costumes for a fundraising day and cocktail evening being hosted at Cleo's of Ironbridge.

The event at the bar on Sunday is part of preparations for a major re-enactment festival that will be held in May to support a charity for wounded soldiers.

The latest effort is being held at the venue, in High Street, to raise funds for the charity and help to promote the main event at Dale End Park Shropshire's World Heritage Site that will be held in the spring.

This Sunday there will be activities featuring a tea room theme from 9am that will be suitable for the whole family with games and performances by Blitz Dancers and the Ashby Big Band playing live all day at the bar.

Tanya Lewis, of the organising committee, said: "During the day time there will be a host of activities for the whole family. There will be a live band, singers and games. In the evening, there will also be live music and people can dress to impress if they so wish.

"All the money raised from the day will go to Pilgrim Bandits and to promote our very large event that is going to be in May."

An entertainment night held in January made £762 towards the war-time re-enactment festival that supports the Pilgrim Bandits charity which helps soldiers who lost limbs in battle to live life to the full.
