The Racing Pigeon Show attracts about 2,000 visitors to the venue from all over the country every year.

It will mark the 11th anniversary since the show, one of the highlights in the calendar for racing enthusiasts, came to Telford back in 2005.

Auctions will be held throughout the day and, depending on their race record, pigeons can be sold from as little as £50, with some going for thousands of pounds.

There will also be trade stands and food stalls at the event, which is organised by The Racing Pigeon weekly newspaper.

Lee Fribbins, editor of the newspaper, said: "We have people from all over who come to the show. It's quite big.

"We can have up to a couple of thousand people there. There's a great atmosphere. The price paid for a pigeon depends on the pedigree of the bird."

The show will take place from 9.30am to 3.30pm. Admission costs £5 for adults and it is free for under 16s to get into the show.
