Mixed media artist Rosie Read, who trained at Camberwell School of Art and Craft, is now launching regular art classes and workshops for budding creatives of all levels of ability at Shrewsbury Market Hall.

Her studio is based on the gallery floor of the market which, she says, is flooded with lots of natural light, making it a perfect place for an artist to work.

"The market is a very friendly place with a lovely atmosphere and I have found an ideal studio space," she said. "I love it here because people can see me working and stop for a chat, so it's like having a permanent open studio."

Rosie has exhibited her work in London, France and across Shropshire. She is a member of the Shropshire Visual Art Network which has a permanent gallery in the Market Hall. Her artwork focusses on shape and texture with inspiration coming from architecture and natural forms and a vast collection of objects and fragments.
