The event is expected to bring crowds of people to the West Mid Showground with bands from around the world ready to entertain festival goers.

Jo Cunningham, one of the event organisers,

said: "The festival has everything from Celtic folk with the traditional type of folk that you might expect.

"But we have also got music from America and Canada, we have got a lot of world music this year and there really is something for everything. We have got workshops, dance and all sorts this year. We have more than 100 workshops that people can get involved in.

"We pride ourselves on extremely high production values. It is a very polished professional festival.

"It is a place where you can come and relax for four days, soaking up the festival atmosphere, or you can come and join in the festival in the traditional ways."

This year's festival will welcome Treacherous Orchestra, and Ross Ainslie & Jarlath Henderson with doors opening at 10am tomorrow.

But, due to injury, Shooglenifty will be replaced by Celtic band Skippinish.

Other music will feature Dervish on the first day of the festival, along with one of Scotland's most famous musicians, John McCusker. He was crowned winner of the Good Tradition Award at this year's BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards this year.
