Hundreds of scooter owners arrived in Bridgnorth for the one day festival combing music and machines.

The Run to the Severn took place at Bridgnorth Rugby Club, the Edgar Davies Ground, with many taking advantage of the good weather to camp overnight.

A new festival, the Scooter Jam attracted scooter enthusiasts from across the county and beyond.

Music included sets during the day by Mr Clean, Skaburst, Savannah, The Quik Beat followed by a night of Groovers and Shakers RnB 60's Soul and Latino at the Bridgnorth Rugby Club.

John and Sarah Berrill, from Oldbury, praised the event, saying: "It was a fantastic day. We would want to say a well done to all involved and we'll be back next year."

A spokesman from the event organisers said: "It was a fantastic turn out, sunshine, blue skies and great music, perfect."

Scooters were made popular by the mods of the 1960s who customised the bikes and debated long and hard whether the Vespa or Lambretta was the best machine.

There was a revival of both the music and the scooters in the late 1970s.
