RAF Cosford Air Show 2016: What's on? When is it? How do I get there?

It is nearly that time again for one of the biggest air shows in the country the RAF Cosford Air Show 2016 - and here is a guide to all you need to know about the day.

With thousands likely to be travelling from all over the country to see the show we thought it would be a good idea to give you a quick guide so you know what to expect when you arrive at Cosford.

When is it?

The date for the RAF Cosford Air Show 2016 is Sunday, June 19.

What aircraft will be appearing at the show for 2016?

While the full line-up for the show is not yet complete here is a list of the aircraft we know will be there this year:

Red Arrows, Midlands Air Ambulance Charity H135, Chipmunk and Venture, Avro Ansony, Belgian Air Force Agusta A109, Belgian Navy Alouette III, RNLAF C-130H Hercules, Gloster Meteor x2, Lauren Richardson Airshow's Pitts Special, Army Air Corps Historic Flight flying and static display, Nanchang CJ-6, Westland Wasp HAS1, Jet Provost T3, RAF/DHFS Griffin HT1, RAF Typhoon FGR4, RAF Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, The Great War Display Team, Bristol 188, Fairey Delta II, Avro 707, Aérospatiale Gazelle x4 - Gazelle Squadron.

What time does the show open and close?

The show site will be open from 8.30am and will close at about 7pm. The flying displays themselves will start at 12pm and end about 5.30pm.

Where is RAF Cosford and how can I get there?

Based just off Junction 3 of the M54 the air show is pretty accessible by road.

The postcode for the show is TF11 8UP will guide you to the local area, however once you start seeing signs for the RAF Cosford Air Show it is recommended by the show that you turn off your satellite navigation and follow them.

The air show recommends that whenever possible that members of the public wishing to attend the show use rail where possible. RAF Cosford has a train station approximately 300m from the entrance to the Air Show.

There is parking for cars, bicycles, motorbikes and camper vans on site, all of which is free.

If you are travelling by roads it would be worth checking travel information regularly as it does get pretty busy in the area on the day.

How much is entry to the show?

Tickets are priced at £25 and under 16's are free when accompanied by an adult. There will be NO tickets at the gate and they must be bought in advance here.

Tickets will be on sale from both RAF Museum sites, at RAF Cosford and Hendon in London, selected Mid-Counties Co-ops across the West Midlands and the Midlands Air Museum in Coventry.
