Last chance to sign up for Bike4Life from Shrewsbury to RAF Cosford

It has attracted the likes of Richard Hammond and former King of the Jungle Carl Fogarty. Now this year's Bike4Life is just days away, with registration ending tomorrow.

The annual charity event sees thousands of bikers follow the now infamous route from Shrewsbury to RAF Cosford.

The ride-out is followed by the Bike4Life festival which kicks off once the bikers arrive at RAF Cosford, this year headlined by rock band Toseland.

Both events raise money and awareness for the Midlands Air Ambulance Charity.

SWith just days to go until the event, which attracted some 5,000 riders last year, some of the biggest names in music, television and rugby have pledged their support to the race.

Motorbike enthusiasts including Duran Duran front-man Simon Le Bon, Formula 1 and MotoGP presenter Suzi Perry, former Top Gear TV presenter Richard Hammond, and former England rugby captain Mike Tindall MBE, have all offered their support of charity's biggest annual fundraiser. While they can't attend the day, due to prior commitments, they have pledged to help raise awareness of the increasingly popular motorcycle event and the important life saving work of the Midlands Air Ambulance Charity.

Cosford-born Suzi Perry said: "Events like Bike4Life are vital to help support the fundraising work of this amazing charity and I'm delighted to be supporting this year's Bike4Life Ride Out and Festival, which is in aid of the Midlands Air Ambulance Charity as part of AIR25, celebrating 25 years of the work of the Midlands Air Ambulance."

"As a keen biker, presenter of Formula 1 and MotoGP and someone who has been passionate about motorcycles from an early age, I cannot think of a better way in which the biking community gets together to show its support to help raise vital funds for one of the most valuable lifesaving emergency services.

Simon Le Bon, who currently rides a 1968 Triumph Bonneville T120r, a 1977 Yamaha XT500 and a 1991 Ducati 888 SPS, said: "As a keen biker for many years, I am thrilled to be able to support this year's Bike4Life event again alongside Richard Hammond, Mike Tindall and Suzi Perry, to help raise valuable funds for the Midlands Air Ambulance Charity. This year is a particularly important one for the Midlands Air Ambulance charity as it celebrates a milestone 25th anniversary having airlifted and saved the lives of more than 43,000 people since it was first formed in 1991, with many of those being bikers airlifted from very serious road traffic accidents. I like many other bikers have seen the incredible work of the air ambulance, their paramedics and doctors first hand, so please come down to show your support at the BIKE4 LIFE festival and ride out."

The Ride Out will start out at 11.30am on Sunday, from Meole Brace in Shrewsbury, with 3,500 bikers expected to take to the roads in convoy before arriving at RAF Cosford where the festival will be under way.

Tickets cost £10 for one biker and pillion for the Ride Out with free entry to the festival, while entry to the festival alone is £5 per person. All proceeds go towards the Midlands Air Ambulance Charity.
