The popular Severn Hospice forget-me-nots have gone on display at Attingham Park.

Hundreds of the striking flowers will be on display for members of the public to admire at the National Trust property in Atcham, near Shrewsbury, until Tuesday.

The charity launched its Forget-Me-Not Appeal earlier this month by unveiling a display of the beautiful iron flowers at Shrewsbury Castle.

Within hours of the flowers going on display the charity sold out of the handcrafted keepsakes after being inundated with orders.

Due to the incredible demand for the flowers the hospice has commissioned Oswestry based British Ironworks Centre to make more.

Elodie Home, fundraising events manager at Severn Hospice, said: "Our Forget Me Not Appeal has proved tremendously popular with our supporters.

"We are delighted to offer people another opportunity to see the forget-me-nots on display and would like to thank the National Trust for allowing us to use the beautiful grounds of Attingham Park.

"The display, located within the walled garden at Attingham Park, will be open to the public until 10.30am on Tuesday when we will start to remove the flowers and ship them to their new owners.

"There is no charge to see the display but usual entrance fees apply for Attingham Park.

"Each individual flower, measuring 17cm in diameter and 43cm in length, has been handmade by the talented team at the British Ironworks Centre and will provide a lasting tribute to those who are no longer with us.

"As the flowers are made from iron they are suitable for use outside and would look beautiful in any garden or outdoor space. Anyone is welcome to purchase a flower – you don't have to have experienced the care of the hospice.

"The money we raise from our Forget-Me-Not Appeal will help fund the vital services our caring teams provide to patients and their families across Shropshire and Mid Wales." The Severn Hospice forget me not flowers, priced £25 each, are currently available to purchase via the charity's website.
